Types of Eyeliner
First of all, let’s know the types of eyeliner. The different types have different formulations which make some types harder or difficult to remove. I am going to tell you some of the types below:
- Pencil Eyeliner: Pencil liner contains waxes and oils that aren’t that sticky to the skin. This soft formulation unlike the other types makes it easy to remove.
- Gel Eyeliner: The other one is gel eyeliner. It is thicker and a little dense than pencil eye liner. You use this one when you want to make the product stay on the eyes for a longer time.
- Liquid Eyeliner: Now come to liquid one. This one provides you with a beautiful look for a long time. It often sticks to the skin so that you can have beautiful eyes for a long time without any worry.
- Waterproof Eyeliner: Last but not least, the waterproof one is famous because it doesn’t fade away with moisture, sweat, or tears. You can apply this one without worrying that it will fade away.

The Tools You Need to Remove Eye Liner
- 1. Makeup Remover: You need a makeup remover for the effective removal of the eyeliner. You have to look for one that suits your skin type. There are many types of makeup removers as well. You can choose one from oil-based, micellar water, or bi-phase removers. It depends on your choice and needs as well. You may need an oil-based remover for the removal of waterproof eyeliner.
- 2. Cotton Pads or Soft Cloths: Secondly, you will need cotton pads or soft clothes. Because they will not damage your skin. You can gently and softly remove the eyeliner without harming the skin.
Step-by-Step Guide to Remove Eye Liner Easily
1. Pencil Eye Liner
Let’s start with pencil eyeliner. Because it is the simple one. Follow the following steps to remove this one:
- First of all, take makeup remover and cotton pad. You need to soak the cotton pad with a makeup remover. Don’t make the cotton pad filled with makeup remover. Dip the cotton pad a little bit in the remover.
- Then apply the cotton pad to the eyes. Apply it gently on the eyes. You don’t need to rub it on the eyes. Just hold the pad over the eyes or eyelid for 10-15 seconds. Press it gently. You don’t need to press it hard for the removal. Then swipe the cotton pad gently in the downward position to remove the product.
- After that, you can use a cotton swab to clean the remaining product from the eyes. You can wash your face after all the process.
2. Gel Eye Liner
Let’s move towards Gel eyeliner. For the removal of this one, you need to take an oil-based remover. This removal process is similar to the pencil eyeliner removal process.
- You need to take oil-based remover and you need to apply it to a cotton pad for the effective removal of this liner. Don’t apply too much remover on the cotton pad. Just apply it in a moderate amount.
- Then, you need to place the cotton pad on your eyelid. The remover will start to break down the molecules of this gel. You need to wait for 15-20 seconds so that the gel can remove the liner from the eyes.
- Then start to separate the liner from the eyes slowly. You can repeat the process if some product is still on the eyes. Repeat the same steps for that.

3. Waterproof Eye Liner
People think that removing the waterproof one is the most difficult of all of the eyeliner types. It is simple to remove but takes a little more time. Follow the given steps to remove waterproof eyeliner.
- First of all, you need to take a cotton pad. Then dip it into the oil-based makeup remover. Because this remover is most effective in removing waterproof eyeliner.
- Then take the soaked cotton pad and apply it to the eyelid. You need to press it for almost 30 seconds so that the remover can break down the molecules of the waterproof liner. It just takes a little more time than removing the other types of eyeliners.
- Then move the cotton pad in a downward direction. The product will become separate from the eyelid. You don’t need to put pressure on the eye while removing. The gentle hold is enough for its removal.
- If any residue or product is left on the eye, then you can start the process again. This will help to clean all the product from the eye. Then wash your face so that the remover’s residue is not left on the eye or skin.
