Conditioners are useful products for hair, and they have taken a major place in the market. They provide their customers with different benefits that I discussed in a blog earlier. Other than that, hair loss is a significant issue that millions of people are facing. People try to resolve this issue by using different hair care products, and sometimes, those products don’t make a difference.
In this blog, I will discuss a major aspect:Â conditioners’ role in controlling hair loss. Hair loss can happen due to many reasons such as hair styling, nutrition, stress, etc. Hair loss affects a person’s personality and physical beauty. Different products are related to the treatment of hair loss. So hair conditioner also comes into question. In this blog, I will inform you all about the extent to which conditioner helps to treat hair loss. This blog will help you know whether you should use a hair conditioner or not for hair loss.
What is Hair Loss and What is not?
Hair loss is the excessive loss of hair. It is a natural process that affects your appearance. While, if a person loses 50 to 100 strands of hair daily then it is not excessive hair loss. Losing this quantity of hair is normal. When you start losing more than 100 strands of hair every day then it becomes excessive hair loss. Different reasons cause excessive hair loss. I have written some of the reasons below for your information.
- It can happen due to not having enough nutrients in your body. You should have the required quantity of iron, zinc, etc. to have healthy hair. So it is important to intake the required nutrients for beautiful and healthy hair.
- Secondly, stress also impacts the health of your hair. When you take too much stress every day, the growth of your hair stops, and your hair starts to weaken.
- Thirdly, when you excessively use artificial products on your hair, it becomes a reason for hair loss. When you do hair styling and use hair heating tools, it weakens the natural health of hair. So, using artificial products and tools on your hair is not healthy for hair.
Do Conditioners Reduce Hair Loss?
The answer to this question is that conditioners don’t majorly help in reducing hair loss. They can minimize the effects of using other products and tools that cause hair loss. Conditioners are specifically made to treat hair loss. Now, I will tell you what matters and to what extent hair conditioners help you reduce hair loss.
1. Reduce Breakage
Conditioners help to reduce hair loss a little by making hair detangle and moisturized. Dry hair is more prone to breaking because friction is present between them. Conditioners help to moisturize hair and reduce hair dryness which makes hair less prone to loss while combing and styling. So, conditioner doesn’t treat the root cause of hair loss because helps to give hair some support.
2. Provides Required Nutrients
There are different types of conditioners. Some of them contain proteins that are beneficial for the health of the hair. These proteins and other ingredients reach your hair and shaft, making your hair a little stronger than before. It will help your hair to absorb less damage from external factors. Hair should receive the required nutrients for its proper growth and health if you want to reduce hair loss.
3. Reduce Damage from Artificial Products and tools
As I have discussed earlier in this blog, styling products and heating tools can affect the health of your hair. In addition to that, environmental stressors damage the hair as well. Conditioner by giving your hair essential nutrients and making a protective barrier helps to reduce the damage given by artificial tools and environmental factors. It makes your hair less prone to hair loss. But it alone can’t effectively reduce hair loss. Hair loss can persist because of the root problems.
Usage of Conditioners Every Year Globally in Percentage
Region | Percentage |
North America | 70% – 80% |
Asia-Pacific | 40% – 60% |
Latin America | 40% – 55% |
Europe | 60% – 70% |
Conclusion’
In conclusion, conditioner is not specifically made to reduce or treat hair loss. But it can make your hair less prone to damage from those factors that cause hair loss. If you want to treat hair loss then there is a need to look into other factors and products as well. Hair conditioner alone can’t help to reduce hair loss. You should look for a hair conditioner that is according to your hair type and that can help you to achieve your goal.
